NEVER ENDS FARM Hunters & Jumpers specializes in developing training programs for you and your horse based on
specific short and long term goals. We have extensive experience in riding and training horses and ponies of all ages,
breeds and levels. Training young, green and/or problematic horses and ponies is our area of expertise. With young
horses it is important to use a systematic and progressive method of training with emphasis on building a solid foundation
to foster the horse’s confidence and dependability. Starting a horse right is very important and will often determine its
attitude and success in the future.

Horses that need to be re-schooled are trained in a similar manner. An initial evaluation is done to determine the best
training plan to guide the horse back on course. This usually entails restarting the horse to regain its trust and going back
to basics to build confidence.

We teach at all levels and ages. Lessons can be taken on one of our school horses or ponies, or, on your own horse
or pony. We teach “classic” hunt seat equitation Dressage and even western, we believe that this is the foundation for
any successful riding program. Additionally, all our programs emphasize safety, horsemanship and rider development.

We have riding programs that fit every need. Each program uses a systematic and progressive approach to expand
the rider’s knowledge and develop confidence on the horse.

Getting the right foundation from the beginning makes it easier to learn and have fun in your riding program. It also
saves time, frustration and money as your riding progresses and you move to more advanced levels.
Beginner Program: Getting the Right Foundation from the
Start

Development of the correct position takes time and understanding. Our
beginner program for adults and children emphasizes the following:

Safety - including riding attire, barn rules, horse knowledge and tack checks.
Horsemanship - including handling and working around horses, grooming and
tacking your horse; caring for your tack; and longing.
Good Foundational Skills - including learning correct position and form, control
and balance, and walking and trotting with self-assurance.
One on One Lessons - private, personalized attention is required to establish a
good working relationship with your instructor and your horse.

Showing is certainly an option at this point, but lessons are more important.
First, we recommend attending a show as a spectator to learn more about the
sport and get an idea of what showing is all about.
Maiden Program: Building from the Foundation

Our maiden program for adults and children builds on the beginner foundation and emphasizes the following:

Horsemanship - including handling and caring after riding, and knowledge of horse terms and tack parts.
Improvement of Foundational Skills - including expansion of position and form, use of aids, trotting on the right
diagonals, cantering on the correct lead with control, solid jumping position at trot and canter, and working over poles
to develop jumping skills.
One on One Lessons - private lessons are still recommended to the Novice Level.
Showing - attending or participating in a local horse show is encouraged. Working relationship with your instructor and
your horse.
Novice Program: Starting Your Jumping and Showing
Experience

To be considered a novice rider you must be able to walk, trot and canter with
confidence, apply all basic aids, have a general knowledge of horsemanship and
safety, and have a good foundation with correct equitation. Once these things are
established, then you are ready to learn how to jump. At this point, semi private lessons
may be taken to learn from others riding in with your group.

Jumping is fun but can be hard work for you and your horse. As a novice rider you will
learn to trot and canter small fences (2'0' and under) and ride simple courses. At this
stage of your riding program we strongly encourage you to explore owning or leasing a
horse, and starting to show at some level if you haven't already.
Intermediate Program: Doorway to Advanced Riding and Showing

Graduating from the Novice Program is a major accomplishment and opens the door to more exciting opportunities as a rider. In an
intermediate program it becomes imperative that you own or lease a horse, especially if you enjoy showing and/or have a passion
for horses.

At this level you will learn how to create smooth transitions, advance your flat work with lateral work, jump more challenging courses,
ride low fences without stirrups and handle jumping problems. You will also be able to ride more technical jumps such as oxers,
rollback turns, bending lines and gymnastics.
Advanced Program: Technical Riding and Showing

As an advanced rider you should have developed a secure and independent position at all gaits and over a course of jumps. We
now put the emphasis on learning how to become a practical rider. A practical rider is one who is proactive, thinks independently,
feels the horse’s actions and understands how to technically ride a course or correct a problem. This is crucial for riders who want
to be successful in the equitation and jumper divisions. In this program, we also work on fine tuning your position to your specific
style of riding and the division of riding you would like to excel in (hunters, equitation or jumpers).

To be able to ride at this level is very challenging and rewarding. Riding at this level takes total commitment of horse and rider, and
a complete understanding of how to get the ride done. Riders at this level primarily show on the local and “A” circuit and compete
for year end awards or final competitions.
NEVER ENDS FARM is now accepting a limited number of horses/ponies and students in training. Please call for more information.
